Japanese excellence at the heart of time: Miyota Calibre 9 Series
This watch is powered by a true masterpiece of engineering: an automatic calibre from Miyota's prestigious 9000 Series. The result of a tradition of precision and reliability, this movement is not just a mechanism, but the beating heart of fine watchmaking.
Its technical characteristics speak for themselves: with 24 jewels that reduce friction and wear, and a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, it guarantees exceptionally accuracy. The generous power reserve of over 40 hours ensures that time continues to tick away even when the watch is not being worn.
But its true soul lies in the sophisticated complications it offers: a complete calendar that harmoniously displays the day, date and month, and an evocative moon phase that adds a touch of poetic elegance, tracing the celestial cycle on the dial.
Its subtle architecture and meticulous construction make it a mechanical work of art that blends perfectly with the design of a luxury watch. This calibre represents the perfect synthesis of traditional craftsmanship, technological innovation and refined aesthetics.
Complications, Beautifully Crafted
The automatic movement is embellished with a refined set of complications, designed to enrich the watch experience without overloading the design. These include the day of the week, date, month and 24-hour indicator, all integrated with restraint to ensure functionality and legibility.
The star of the show is the moon phase, one of the most fascinating complications in classic watchmaking. A decorated disc visible on the dial represents the lunar cycle with visual accuracy that combines technical precision and poetry.
This function, in addition to evoking the most noble watchmaking tradition, adds depth and elegance to the dial, capturing the eye and connecting mechanical time to the natural rhythm of the moon.
A detail that transforms the watch into much more than an instrument: an object capable of telling time with beauty and meaning.
Elegance Takes Shape
The case is made of 316L stainless steel, an industry standard in watchmaking known for its high corrosion resistance and ability to maintain a flawless appearance over time. With a diameter of 40 mm, it is the ideal size for most wrists: compact enough not to be intrusive, but large enough to ensure clear and immediate readability of the dial.
The front glass is made of synthetic sapphire, one of the most resistant materials used in watchmaking, second only to diamond. Extremely resistant to scratches and everyday wear and tear, the crystal is also treated with an anti-reflective coating that enhances its transparency, more than double that of traditional mineral glass, improving visibility in all lighting conditions.
The case back features a transparent mineral crystal, allowing the automatic movement to be admired in action, offering a touch of technical sophistication and a visual connection to the mechanical heart of the watch.
Gloss and Grace in Perfect Balance
The enamelled dial is the result of a refined craftsmanship process that combines precision, patience and skill. The enamel used is a glassy mixture composed of silica, feldspar, kaolin and metal oxides, melted at very high temperatures (1400-1500 °C) to obtain the ‘frit’, which is then ground into a very fine powder and purified. The dial is then fired several times in a kiln at around 800 °C, to melt the enamel perfectly and achieve depth, transparency and brilliance. Finally, the dial is carefully smoothed and polished, revealing a smooth, luminous surface of extraordinary beauty, making each piece unique and timeless.
The dial is designed with a balanced structure that combines functionality and aesthetic refinement. The upper hemisphere houses the complication windows: day of the week, date and month. These elements are harmoniously distributed along the upper arc of the dial, ensuring immediate and orderly reading. At 12 o'clock, the Axon logo, embellished with a luminous finish, adds a distinctive touch and visibility even in low light conditions. The lower hemisphere features elegant applied Roman numerals, adding depth and a nod to the most classic watchmaking tradition. The contrast between the technical layout of the upper part and the formal language of the lower part creates a coherent and well-balanced aesthetic. The result is a sophisticated and functional dial, in which each element has a precise geometric position and a well-defined role, contributing to the visual identity of the watch.
Comfort For Everyday Wear
The strap is made from high-quality calfskin, selected for its softness, durability and ability to improve with age. The finish, with attention to the smallest details, offers a perfect balance between classic elegance and everyday comfort.
The choice of calfskin is not only aesthetic but also functional: it guarantees flexibility, breathability and a pleasant feel on the wrist even after many hours of use.
The strap is completed by a stainless steel folding clasp, designed to offer a secure and precise fit. In addition to improving the durability of the strap, the folding clasp makes it easier to open and close, reducing the wear and tear typical of traditional buckles and adding a touch of technical refinement. The quick-release allows for an easy strap change to suit every occasion.
This combination of fine materials and functional solutions makes the strap not only an aesthetic element, but an integral part of the watch experience.
